1、 The drum brake has a cast iron component similar in shape to a tambourine, called a brake drum, which is fixed to the tire and rotates at the same speed. Disc brakes have advantages such as better responsiveness and stability, better heat dissipation, and easy replacement. Drum brakes have lower costs and higher absolute braking force, and are more commonly used in the rear wheels of small cars. But its wear rate is relatively high, so the overall cost is also high.
2、 Disc brake pads are divided into ordinary disc and ventilated disc.
A regular disc is solid. The ventilation disc type has ventilation effect, which refers to the centrifugal force generated by the car during operation that can cause air convection and achieve heat dissipation. This is determined by the special structure of the disc type disc.
From the appearance, it has many holes on the circumference that lead to the center of the circle. They are made by special processes, so the heat dissipation effect is much better than that of ordinary disc type.
Of course, due to the relationship between manufacturing process and cost, in general, mid to high-end sedans, front ventilated discs and rear ordinary disc brake pads are usually used. Some high-quality high-end sedans use front and rear ventilated discs. In addition, most economy cars use front disc and rear drum brake pads, and the front disc used here is usually just a regular disc rather than a ventilated disc.
